Irin Niazi Manna is a renowned writer of juvenile literature and journalist of Bangladesh. At present she is the editor and publisher of the first women related online newspaper of Bangladesh named womennews24.com. As well as she is editing regularly a juvenile magazine ‘Kishore Lekha’. Manna is working as a journalist with her efficacy and professionalism since 26 years in both Bangladesh and overseas. She is a very skilled, experienced, adroit, observant and intellectual journalist. She showed her talent in both field of journalism at reporting and editing.
Irin Niazi Manna has worked as a reporter in versatile beats of journalism. The most significantbeats Manna has performed well were economic beat, small industry and garments sector. Irin Niazi Manna was born in Dhaka on 31st August. Her father late M.A. Mannan was a government high official and her mother Rezia Khanam was a house wife. Manna completed her honors and masters degree from Sociology department of DhakaUniversity.
Irin Niazi Manna has worked as a reporter in the daily Manabjamin, daily Matrivumi, daily Vorer Kagoj and daily Samakal. Additionally, she was the foreign expert in the department of Bangla of China Radio International (CRI) in Beijing, China.
Irin Niazi Manna was a foreign expert at the headquarter of China Radio International (CRI)in Beijing from 15th January 2015 to 15th January 2017. She acted as the founder editor of first women related online newspaper womennews24.com of Bangladesh in 10th October 2012 to 31st December 2014. This portal has been inaugurated by Manna in 2012.
Manna had worked as a senior reporter of a leading daily Bengali newspaper in Bangladesh the Daily Samakal from 1st July 2008 to 31st August 2014. Before that, she was a senior reporter in another Bengali daily Vorer Kagoj from 1st July 2003 to 31st May 2007. She also worked as a staff reporter in a news agency named News Garden from 1st April 2002 to 31st March 2003. Manna was a reporter in another Bengali daily Dainik Matrivumi from 1st August 2001 to 31st March 2002. She was also a reporter in the first tabloid newspaper of Bangladesh named Manabjamin from 1st March 1998 to 31st July 2001.
Irin Niazi Manna is a well-known and recognized writer of juvenile literature. She commenced her write-up with rhymes and juvenile poems in her early life. Rhymeis her first love andshe is continuing her rhyme writing till now. Besides, she intertwined her creativity with story, poem and article writing.
Manna published her first rhyme when she was only 8 years old at the juvenile literature page ‘Kochikanchar Asor’ in the Daily Ittefaq which was under the supervision of eminent journalist and litterateur Rokanuzzaman Khan (Dadabhai). Mannais regular in writing rhyme, poems for juvenile, story, fairy tales, translating foreign literature, feature, and articles etc in the renowned newspapers of Bangladesh. In addition, Manna is writing articles and columns for women journalists frequently and published articles in numerous topics in the different dailies, monthly and quarterly newspaper of Bangladesh includingdaily Ittefaq, daily Sangbad, daily Samakal, daily Vorer Kagoj, daily Prothom-Alo, daily Janakantha, daily Somoyer Alo. Meanwhile, divers books about media and for children has been published written by Manna from well-known publishing house of Bangladesh.
Irin Niazi Manna is editing and publishing the most popular juvenile magazing ‘Kishore Lekha’ from her early life. This quarterly magazine is contributing for child’s mental development for last 38 years. Famous poets like Shamsur Rahman, Al Mahmud, Mohadeb Saha had contributed with their strong write-up regularly in this magazine. Moreover, Kishore Lekha has built a strong bridge with young and sapient writers of juvenile literature of Bangladesh. Both erudite, contemporary and young, fresh writers are writing for this magazine recurrently. Irin Niazi Manna likes to wander amidst of nature and villages. She is very much fond of watching birds in the mid of wildlife. Moreover, she is the convener of Bangladesh Bird-watcher Society (BBS). This organization arranges ‘Watch Birds-Know Birds’ related programs with interested people amidst nature in different places.The main objectives of BBS is creating safe and comfortable ambience for birds by preventing bird hunting as well as making feelings and compassion of people for birds.
Irin Niazi Manna is a permanent member of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU). Besides, she elected for the post of women affair secretary in this organization sequentially three times in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Additionally, Manna is a permanent member of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) and member of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ).
Irin Niazi Manna is a member and former Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Nari Sangbadik Kendro (A Centre for Women Journalist, Bangladesh). She is a member of Health and Environment Journalist Forum. Manna also a member of Bangladesh Sociology Association and She is the present convener of Bangladesh Bird-watcher Society (BBS).
